In view of these results and developments, we are aiming to expand the programming of MPA 2012 to also include:
● more institutions, including museums, galleries, theatres and universities interested in hosting Performance Art-related activities;
● a Performance Art award;
● an international platform for non-Berlin based artists;
● workshops, lectures and discussions to fuel active reflections and exchanges of Performance Art related activities and discourses.
The MONTH OF PERFORMANCE ART is a month-long platform dedicated to presenting new work and connecting, promoting and highlighting Berlin’s independent and contemporary Performance Art scene and its players.
Launched in May 2011, the first MONTH OF PERFORMANCE ART kicked off to an auspicious start with a diverse programme comprising over 40 curated events, 100 participating artists, curators and producers and 25 hosting venues/locations. MPA 2011 drew also significant interest from international artists and organisations, keen in partnering with the project and presenting their work in Berlin.
